1. enchufla y sacala
“sacala” is often called at the end of a figure, just before the figure finishes with dile que no.
If the caller wants to call “sacala” from guapea (basic step in open position), it is common to call “enchufla y sacala”, and the entire figure is done with the same partner, with dile que no after sacala.
Video is not ready yet.
2. … con una, dos
= … with one, two (claps)
This command is used to add clapping at the end of a rueda figure. It is commonly used after some of the basic commands with partner change, like dame and enchufla. When used after the command dame, it is common to actually skip the dame part, calling una con una, dos con dos in stead of dame una con una, dame dos con dos.
Even though it is possible to use it in combination with enchufla (enchufla con una), it is more common to use “pelota una” (or pelota dos, pelota tres), which is the same figure as enchufla con una (enchufla con dos, enchufla con tres).
Clapping in figures used in open position normally starts on beat 7, even though a few instructors teach clapping starting on 1. Clapping in al medio (after enchufla y al medio) normally starts on beat 1.
- dame una con una
- una con dos
- dos con dos
3. … con mambo
= … with mambo
This modifier adds mambo steps to the figure – for both men and women.
Normally the mambo part keep on for 8 beats, but it is possible to extend it by calling siguelo.
- enchufla con mambo
- sombrero con mambo
4. … dos
= … two
Some of the movements in the figures are sometimes two times, for example two claps.
It os common to first do it once, and then simply call “dos” (two), referring to the previous command.
- dos tarros
- dos fly
- dame una > dos
5. festival de …
= festival of …
The command festival de… is used to make three repetition of a certain figure (to be called with the command).
Normally there is one clap after the first time, two claps after the second time, and three claps after the third time.
However, exceptions exits, like in Echevarria y festival de fly, which are three claps following each other.
- festival de pelota
- Echeverria y festival de fly

The command repite is used to do repeat the previous figure. It is commonly used for the shorter figures, like exhíbela.
It may also be used for commands with long names, like patin pa’mujeres, or a sequence of commands, like enchufla y arriba y dos abajo, – especially to save time if the music is fast.
If a caller calls out a command that some of the coulpes misses or something else goes wrong, calling repite afterwards is a common way to signal to the dancers in the rueda that they get another chance of making the figure right.
- sacala > repite
- dame directo > repite
The command mentira! is used to abort a command that is given. In most cases it is just the caller playing around, but in some cases it is also used to clean up a chaos. For example if the caller discovers that he gave one command but started doing another figure, then he might abort with mentira! (or quédate)
- dame > mentira!
- una fly > mentira!
- un tarro > mentira!
