Module: Casino 2.

This module has level: Improver.

Basic Transitions and Variations

Module 2 introduces: Exhibela, Vacilala, Sombrero, and Setenta, with a repeat of Aguajea to strengthen consistency. These figures expand on basic transitions and introduce variety.

aguajea

Aguajea is a common figure with both a basic variation (improver level) and a bit more challenging variation (intermediate level). It is useful to be confident in the basic variation before moving on. It is also a nice figure to combine with exhibela in this module. Aguajea is also called pasea/paseala and adentro y afuera.

exhibela

Exhibela is used in closed position, and it is common to combine it with aguajea / paseala / adentro y afuera.
It is also common to use it in any figure before dile que no.
For example, try to include it in setenta befor the final dile que no.

vacilala

Vacilala is a very common casino figure, and it includes a part where there is no physical contact between the two in the couple. Eye contact is however still important! It is essential that the man leads the lady in the turn, and that the lady does not initiate the turn herself.

sombrero

Sombrero means hat, and the man’s arms should be moving above the lady’s head, sort of like a hat.
This is also important to make the figure flow smoothly, and to avoid pain in the arms for the lady.

setenta

Setenta is probably the most common and well known of all the casino figures.
“Setenta” means seventy.
