Module: Casino 3.

This module has level: Improver.

Expanded Basics

Module 3 explores: Setenta y Uno, Preciosa, Montaña, and Ochenta y Cuatro, with a repeat of El Dedo. These moves provide more complexity while remaining beginner-friendly. Each module expects familiarity with basic Salsa steps and rhythm before moving forward.

El dedo

Repeat el dedo to make sure that you remember the various turns involved,
and also to prepare for the figure montaña in this module, which follows the same pattern.

montaña

When you know el dedo well, montaña is easy to learn.
In montaña leader basically leads the same figure with two hands.

ochenta y quatro

ochenta y quatro is the most common casino figure starting with crossed hands, ladies’ right turn and the man’s right hand up / left hand down.

Several other casino figures start the same way, and they often have names starting with ochenta

preciosa

Preciosa is a separate figure, but may also be used in any casino combination where you end up in the position after the intial enchufla with two hands.

setenta y uno

Setenta y uno (seventyone) is a shorter version of setenta, introducing the “gancho” (hook).
