Barbro Fines y su Mayimbe

Our partner artist Bárbaro Fines y su Mayimbe is a Lima-based powerhouse that fuses the precision of Cuban timba with the energy of Peru’s vibrant scene. The orchestra is led by Havana-born pianist and bandleader Bárbaro Fines Forte, who cut his teeth as a teenager with Maykel Blanco’s first group Suprema Ley before performing with Cuban greats such as Issac Delgado and Paulito FG. After moving to Peru, he helped launch Los Conquistadores de la Salsa and, in 2010, founded Mayimbe—bringing together an explosive lineup of Cuban and Peruvian musicians.
Their debut album, “De La Habana a Perú,” became a global dance-floor sensation, cementing Mayimbe as one of the most in-demand salsa/timba acts on the international circuit. Follow-up releases expanded their signature sound: tight, piano-driven grooves, bold horn arrangements, and coros built for call-and-response with the crowd. On stage, Mayimbe delivers high-octane shows that flow from elegant montunos to hard-hitting timba gears, always with the dancers in mind.
Whether in concert halls, festivals, or late-night socials, Bárbaro Fines y su Mayimbe turn any floor into a celebration. We’re proud to collaborate with them and to share their music with our community.
